Love this question and it always seems to come up and just last week one of my coaching clients asked me this, so I wanted to share it with you and hope it brings you value.
Also Happy New Moon and enjoy this energy to manifest and give yourself permission to stop and be easy on yourself. Take more time to relax and visualize!
Spirituality is the unique understanding of something greater than yourself. It is a desire to know more about a greater being, energy within you. Sooner or later we’re all drawn to explore and do research into understanding our connections with our higher self, God, universe however you label.
For over 20 years I feel that You deserve the freedom to connect to, understand, feel and experience the true connection on an energetic quantum level. This may help you Ignite what Spirituality is and of course What action you can take. Perspective is everything and your beliefs!
Welcome to the adventure! Spiritually means different things for different people. For some, it’s primarily about a belief in God and active participation in Religion. For others, it’s about non-religious experiences that help them get in touch with their spiritual selves through quiet reflection, which can include time in nature, private prayer, Tai Chi, or meditation. For many people, Spirituality is connected to the larger questions about life and our identity. These questions could be: Am I a good person? What is the meaning of my suffering? What is my connection to the world around me? Do things happen for a reason? How can I live my life in the best way possible? Asking yourself these questions can help you tap into your own Spirituality and help you develop your own Spiritual beliefs and foundation. Remember it is unique to you!
Most Lightworkers identify themselves as Spiritual yet not Religious. Does that sound like you?
When I heard this phrase years ago I remember thinking: What does that mean? Nowadays we have many different labels for so many things and I do not label myself personally as Spiritual or Religious. I look at my relationship with my higher self and my energy as a wonderful divine connection that I have cultivated and practiced.
Don’t you agree? Spirituality may incorporate elements of religion, it is generally a broader concept. Religion and Spirituality are not the same things, nor are they entirely distinct from one another. Religion and Spirituality are sometimes, yet not always, related. The best way to understand this is to think of two overlapping circles. When you think of Spirituality the questions you may ask yourself are: where do I personally find meaning, connection, and value? When you think of Religion the questions that may be asked are: what is true and right? When the circles of Spirituality and Religion overlap is where the individual experience is. The individual experience affects the way you think, feel and behave. Yes?
While Spirituality and Religion can be hard to tell apart by some people, there are defined differences between the two. Religions are a specific set of organized beliefs and practices and are usually shared by a community or group. This is where churches come into the picture. Spirituality is more of individual practice. Spirituality has to do with having a sense of peace and purpose and also relates to the process of developing beliefs around the meaning of life and connection with others. For many, the practice of Reiki, Tai Chi, meditation, and massage among others, are ways one may express their Spirituality.
Don’t you agree that each experience creates new avenues for you to connect to your divine higher power? Also offers a boundless knowing that comes from within. This helps build unwavering security that you are cared for in dark times. Both Spirituality and Religion offer a source of limitless love and connection. All of these connections create pathways to inner peace, clarity, and balance.

Connecting to the awareness of your thoughts forms your reality which increases your personal power. Many people do not like the idea that we create our reality. Even many of my family members do not believe in this concept! Creating your own reality and increasing your personal power starts with your thoughts and the things that you can control things you influence and things that you have no control over at all.
What is not under our control are the random events of our lives. These things can be the families we were born into, earthquakes, pandemics, illness, job layoffs, the death of a loved one, fire, and car accidents to name a few. These circumstances are what we experience and events that we are aware of.
Here are a few things we have influence over, your reaction to other people. You can walk into a room and smile at someone or slap them in the face. They definitely would respond differently to a smile than a slap. A funny analogy, yet it works doesn’t it? You can’t control or determine how a person responds.
You can control how you create your own reality. You start to create your reality when you start to perceive, interpret, and think about the events in your life which then generate your feelings about these events. No one can choose your thoughts or actions. You are the only one who can choose your own thoughts and actions. Find extraordinary comfort in the limitless love of a higher power, or God, who guides each of us in troubling or good times.
Much of my understanding of God originated from my Catholic background. It was in college however my religious views shifted. I was able to participate in many faiths and attend so many places of worship. I also made a connection to Mother Nature. My experiences endowed in me an acceptance for all beliefs and fostered a growing sense of connection to Spirituality. As I grew, I sought out renewed spiritual understanding. Through all of these experiences, I have found the spiritual energy that empowered, guided, and protected me in creating the SHINE ON! movement.
Some of the religious belief systems left me feeling ashamed for something I had no control over. By connecting to many people of many faiths I overcame the shame of my experiences. Over time, I found peace and a renewed connection to personal power.
Others have also seen Spirituality as a great way of seeking solace and peace in their life. Spirituality can be used as a way of gaining perspective, recognizing that our role in life has a greater value than just what we do every way. It can separate a person from dependence on the material things in our world and help us establish a greater purpose. Spirituality can also be a way of coping with change or uncertainty in our lives.
While I do not label myself as being either Spiritual or religious, I do have a personal relationship with my higher self and my energy. I practice this daily by taking a few minutes every day to meditate. I invite you to do the same. You too can take time to concentrate on the core values of religious or spiritual belief systems. Take a look at your relationship with your higher self, your energy, and think about exploring a different perspective in your life. Truly take the time to connect to your higher power.
