Resolutions: Commitments to Change

New Years resolutions are commitments people make to themselves to improve or change their lives in the coming year. It can be for fun or in earnest as these desires are discussed and often written down. Many times resolutions are forgotten during the first few months after the New Year is celebrated. Using the Law of Attraction you may take yours resolutions to a higher level.

The Law of Attraction explains that our thoughts become our reality. Whether the signal is positive or negative we will attract likewise. The Universe is fully available to us and our desires when we are open to receive. There are various ways to practice manifesting such as meditation, affirmations or speaking to your Higher Self or Source.

Some tips for turning resolutions into successful manifestations are:

  • State your intention – your spoken words are powerful. Be positive!
  • Be specific – State exactly what you desire. Visualize what you want to create.
  • Practice gratitude – Live is gratitude for what you presently have as well as for what is to come.
  • Release your desires and intentions to the Universe. Allow the energies of the Universe to work mysteries and bring your intentions to fruition.
  • Have faith – Know you have been heard. Expect your desires will be achieved with Divine timing and for your best good.
  • Be patient – Relax! Enjoy your life knowing you have taken steps to successfully create your physical and spiritual desires.

This upcoming year is going to be exciting! We will all have opportunities for growth, learning and creating. In the material world where we exist together, what do you wish to create? In the connection of Spirit to your physical body, what will you manifest for your spiritual longings?

Daily Pratices for More Joy

These are three good practices I use daily. Making these a part of my life has brought more excitement and joy into my life experiences.

  1. Letting go of control: Realizing that we are not in control over the events that take place in our life helps us let go of the attachments to the outcome.  By changing your thought patterns you may reduce stress and worry about how all the details are going to play out. When you realize you are pushing, pushing, pushing – Stop, relax, breathe and let go.
  2. Accept that you are amazing! From the moment you awaken, smiling and bringing up your energy, release the limiting beliefs of your past self. Create a fabulous new you every morning.  Always remember and give yourself permission to be amazing.
  3. Human – yes, you are! Mistakes are going to happen. People feelings are going to get hurt and you will sometimes feel hurt also. Give yourself a break! Be forgiving, compassionate and loving to yourself.

If these resonate with you, write key words on a piece of paper and tape it to your mirror. First thing each morning, review your key words and practice them until they become a part of who you are because you are amazing!

Creating and Accepting Mom’s Love

When I was a little girl Mama was full of joy and very energetic. I remember feeling as though life was a dream. As I began to mature I still saw Mama with that same joy. As I began to create my own life my actions and behaviors weren’t always accepted by Mom, but there was always Mama’s love.

We all look for our Mother’s acceptance. The love is always a constant, but sometimes the approval isn’t there. In my relationship with Mom I knew I was loved. But our relationship at times grew strained. I used to think, “If you’re not able to approve of my life we probably won’t be close.”

Then, through self acceptance and creating boundaries, I was able to open up to my Mama. By communicating with love we began to look at our relationship as two adults instead of Mother and child, and now we respect and honor each other. Our love has grown and deepened over the years.

Our depth of love was born from acceptance and communicating in a loving way. My Mama is so amazing! During this process she changed too! Mama became completely accepting of who I am! Happy Mother’s Day Mama – I love you!

We are all Mothers to all children around the world!

How I Experienced Courage

While at the grocery store I received a phone call from my Step-mom telling me my Dad was in the hospital, and it was about his heart. As energy pulsed through me my first reaction was the need to rush to the hospital. Then a feeling of great calm came over me, I felt a knowing that my Dad was going to be okay. I remember thinking, “The Universe has him.” I still felt driven to be there for my family; nothing was more important and I cleared my schedule. Healing energy was already flowing.

In the calm I felt as though I were floating in this experience. As I floated I sensed the reality of possibly losing my Dad. I told myself, “I have the courage; I will do this. I will continue to step forward, releasing my burden and focusing on healing energy.”

What was most challenging was seeing Dad. His short-term memory was affected and he was in so much pain. After surgery, as the anesthetic wore off, he kept asking, “Where am I?” and “What’s going on?” I’ve always seen my Dad as the head of the family. He was always a strong and fearless leader. Now I was seeing him as a human, a fragile being. I had to ask myself, “Do I have the courage to go on without him when that time comes?”

The outpouring of love, sympathy and healing from friends was amazing and deeply appreciated. All the love and healing coming our way was something I could feel. I know it helped us through this experience. I know it helped my Dad. I was overwhelmed with the validation that I am never alone!

We are never, ever alone. Our God/Universe is always there for us. Our friends and family are not only our support, they are the bridges connecting us all.

Celebrate Earth Day!

April 22 is Earth Day, celebrating the 42nd anniversary of what many consider the birth of the modern environmental movement. In 1970 Senator Gaylord Nelson of Wisconsin started a movement which channeled the energy of the anti-war protests and capitalized on the emerging consciousness for environmental concerns. The result was 20 million Americans took to the streets, parks, and auditoriums to demonstrate for a healthy, sustainable environment in massive coast-to-coast rallies.

This year, more than one billion people in 192 countries around the globe, will participate in Earth Day 2012. People of all nationalities and backgrounds will share their appreciation for the planet and demand its protection. Together they will stand united for a sustainable future and call upon individuals, organizations, and governments to do their part.
There are many ways to participate from organizing environmental fundraisers, to planting a tree, to taking care to use less water and paying extra attention to how many lights are left on.

Connecting to Your Spirit Guides

Shine On!Each of us has Spirit Guides, and your Guide may be a person or an animal. As the situations in your life change, you may attract new guides to help you. Your Spirit Guides can help you with every aspect of your life, all you have to do is ASK! If you can think of a question, your Spirit Guides will give you an answer. Here are some tips for connecting with your Spirit Guides:

  • Find a quiet, comfortable place where you will not be disturbed. Stretch, relax, and breathe to relax and release any accumulated tension or stress.  Do this for at least three minutes, or as much as necessary to achieve a state of relaxation.
  • Set your spiritual intent to contact your spirit guide, and open up your awareness to their presence. You may see them, feel their presence, hear them communicating, or somehow just know they are there. Say “hello” and allow yourself to receive a “hello” back.
  • Relax, breathe and just be in their presence. Without speaking, ask your spirit guide if they have a message for you. If you have a question, remember to be very clear and focused on whatever situation you want help with. Be still and allow yourself to receive their spiritual communication. Just be…and listen.
  • When you end your connection, always give thanks to your Spirit Guide with a sense of gratitude for their help.

Have faith in knowing that if you ask for guidance,  or for a sign, it will always be given. But you must be open to receiving the message in any form. Remember that your Spirit Guides are always around you ready to help, but they cannot and will not interfere with your life. You must first invite them in, ask for their guidance and they will be happy to help you in any way they can.

Celebrate! Celebrate with joy!  How do you celebrate?

Celebration! People all over the world take the opportunity to celebrate everything and anything. Celebrations can last just a few moments to days or weeks. The celebration of a small accomplishment can be in the form of a “high five”. The Chinese New Year celebration is more than two weeks. There are celebrations that range from the traditional to the unusual. Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving are examples of traditional celebrations.  April Fool’s Day and Halloween are unusual yet popular. The variety of religious or spiritual celebrations abounds world-wide and is present in most cultures. Celebrating, whether it’s for fun or to give honor, is loved by all.

No matter how your spirituality is structured you may have traditional ways to celebrate your belief. The question this week is: How do you celebrate your beliefs?

Viewpoint 1: I celebrate my beliefs by living them. Even though my beliefs are quite different from my friends and family we celebrate our beliefs by coming together while respecting each other. This creates agreeable conditions where we can all celebrate with joy and love on any given holiday.

Viewpoint 2: I spend time with family and friends. Also, I like to take time with Mother Nature. For me, being in nature is really important when celebrating who I am and what I believe.

I celebrate by taking some time to meditate and celebrate my spirituality. I also go to see my family where a big part of the celebration is the dinner. When children are involved I like to do some type of activity with them which involves celebrating our beliefs.

However you celebrate your beliefs, celebrate knowing you are loved. If you don’t feel loved, know that I love you!

A Higher Frequency – Joy! & Video

Where do we find joy? Joy, like all other emotions, whether negative or positive is a vibration or frequency. Guilt, fear and anger are all frequencies under 200. On the other hand, love, joy and gratitude are all frequencies over 500. Raising our vibration then, may be the key to experiencing joy. When the body’s energy, or frequency, is higher we are healthier in many ways.

The following is a list of suggestions for finding joy in your life. Ultimately, you must choose to be happy and joyous. You are the only one who can find reasons to feel good and experience joy. These may help get you started.

  • When you step outdoors see the beauty Mother Earth provides and be joyous. Really look at the flowers, plants and animals. Take a walk and look for nature’s beauty. Enjoy it.
  • Watch children – they seem to know the key to happiness. Joy seems natural to them as they sing, dance and play. It may be a good idea to play and have fun. Discover your inner child; see life through a child’s eyes.
  • Tune in to yourself. Take joy in making peace with whom and where you are. See the beauty of self. Acknowledge your divinity and live in appreciation.

All these actions tend to raise your emotional frequency. So, whatever it is that you find makes you feel good, happy and joyous, do it and do it often. You may find the feeling of joy comes to you easier as you practice it.

It is important to have confidence in all areas of your life.  Spiritual confidence is a sense of absolute conviction which cannot be affected by external or internal change. It is:

  • Unshakable
  • From deep insight into your true self
  • A precious gift
  • Freely from your awakened heart & mind
  • Open to all who receive it

Spiritual confidence is your anchor in the midst of your busy life. It holds you firm through life’s experiences.

During our present time of changes, turbulence and fear – spiritual confidence provides a powerful resource. You become the warrior. You connect with others of like beliefs, reach out to community and become the helping hand.

You can see and feel this confidence in those who have embraced their spirituality and walk their path. Love and joy emanate from their depths, from their heart and seems to pour from them. They are very comfortable with who they are and what they have to share.

Developing spiritual confidence takes a commitment from and to your higher self. The following are good questions to ask yourself if you desire more confidence in your spiritual life.

  • Do your actions or behaviors follow your beliefs?
  • Are you open – listening for guidance?
  • Do you practice living in love and joy?
  • Are you using your gifts and talents to benefit yourself and others?

Releasing Old Patterns & Video

Shine On!You are born as a perfect being with the opportunity to be, have and experience whatever you choose.  However as you journey through life you become programmed with ideas and beliefs about yourself.  These ideas and beliefs create patterns repeated throughout your life.  By repeating patterns of false beliefs, limiting behaviors and negative feelings you actually limit your full potential. These patterns may be about your:

  • career,
  • relationships,
  • health or the
  • ability to grow spiritually.

Releasing these patterns may improve your ability to enjoy personal growth including the ability to realize the fulfillment of your manifestations, dreams and goals.

The following is an example which gives an effective method to release old patterns:

  • Name the pattern or belief – Speak aloud to give your words power. Write it on a piece of paper. Be specific. Example: “I am not worthy of love. I am not lovable.”
  • Identify where the pattern grew from. Speak aloud and write it on the paper. Using the same example, think back to the time in life where these feelings came from. “I feared my Mom did not love me. She was always critical of me.”
  • Physically release the old pattern. Write on your paper that you are releasing this old pattern. In the above example “I release my fear of being unlovable. I am a loving person and I am worthy of receiving love.”
  • Do a burn – take the paper outdoors and, in a safe place, burn it. Watch the smoke as it floats to the heavens, releasing your intention.
  • State aloud your appreciation to your God or Higher Self, your Angels, Guides and Totems. Ask them to be with you as you embrace this change.
