Everyone’s Symbol is Different – What’s Your Symbol?

“For every step you take towards God, God takes 100 steps towards you.” When I think of this phrase, stated by the Dalai Lama, I think of consciously taking those steps while God/Spirit steps a hundred fold towards me. When we are conscious of the existence and presence of the Divine, we are taking a conscious step towards God/Divine/Spirit.

All traditional religions have their own symbols and images that are meant to help us be conscious of the Divine. Some of them are the crucifix (Christian), images of Nataraja Shiva, Ganesha, or Kali (Hindu), the yin-yang symbol (Taoist), images of Buddha (Buddhist), images of Kachinas (Native American), the Mezuzah (Jewish), and the Ankh (Egyptian).

The steps of becoming conscious of the Divine are perhaps the most important piece of our evolution. What do you have in your home or office that helps keep you conscious of the existence and presence of your Divinity?

Spiritual Independence

This week our country celebrates Independence Day. This is one of our most loved holidays commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. When I think of independence I also think of my spiritual enlightenment.

Raised in the Catholic Church I learned their theology and practices until I became a young adult. Then I began a journey of self discovery that included a several other religions. I talked to a lot of people from different religious back grounds and read books about other religions. Being an Empath I wanted to feel the energy of some religions so I attended church services of different denominations. At one point I became a re-born Christian. I continued to feel driven to search for a belief system that felt just right for me. I attended Buddhist services, spent some time with a Spiritual Sage and hung out for a while with a Mystic. I began to form my own beliefs, feeling my way to harmony in my heart. I gained spiritual independence by researching and participating in a variety of beliefs then creating what felt good to me. Once I felt what was right for me, I released the past and all the old patterns.

It is wise for everyone to seek their own spiritual independence. When we seek the knowledge and take actions to find our truth we gain spiritual independence. It’s time to see with different eyes!

If you are at a point in your spiritual journey where you would like to release old patterns, come and join in the Releasing Old Patterns class on Saturday.

Want to Find Some Peace? Meditate, Baby!

When the Center was open, every Thursday for six years I taught meditation classes. Many people still ask me how to meditate. There’s so many different ways to meditate! Simply put, meditating is focusing or concentrating on one thing, like Tai Chi. That’s why I love Tai Chi so much. There are many tools that can assist you in your meditation practice. For instance, a candle flame, music or humming. You can also meditate while gardening, doing dishes or other sedate activities.

However, there is one constant – BREATHING! My breathing has changed in the last year and a half since I closed the Center. Back then my breathing was what I call too serious. Not that I don’t take meditation serious – I do. I was being too serious in trying to control everything. Now I sing and hum to relax my energy. As I relax my breathing becomes deeper as I sing. Changing the way I meditate makes me feel more connected to the experience. Without listening to a meditation CD or reading from a book, I create my experience and it works perfect for me. You may want to try this idea – choose a meditation from a book and read it into a recorder. Listening to you tell you what to do – can be very powerful. I challenge every one of you to create your own experience! If you’d like to come to a guided meditation, I welcome you to my home on Thursday from 7:30 – 9:00 PM. Meditation in the Shining Wheel

Celebrate! Celebrate with joy! & Bonus Video

Shine On!
Celebrate! Celebrate with joy!  How do you celebrate?

Celebration! People all over the world take the opportunity to celebrate everything and anything. Celebrations can last just a few moments to days or weeks. The celebration of a small accomplishment can be in the form of a “high five”. The Chinese New Year celebration is more than two weeks. There are celebrations that range from the traditional to the unusual. Christmas, Easter and Thanksgiving are examples of traditional celebrations.  April Fool’s Day and Halloween are unusual yet popular. The variety of religious or spiritual celebrations abounds world-wide and is present in most cultures. Celebrating, whether it’s for fun or to give honor, is loved by all.

No matter how your spirituality is structured you may have traditional ways to celebrate your belief. The question this week is: How do you celebrate your beliefs?

Viewpoint 1: I celebrate my beliefs by living them. Even though my beliefs are quite different from my friends and family we celebrate our beliefs by coming together while respecting each other. This creates agreeable conditions where we can all celebrate with joy and love on any given holiday.

Viewpoint 2: I spend time with family and friends. Also, I like to take time with Mother Nature. For me, being in nature is really important when celebrating who I am and what I believe.

I celebrate by taking some time to meditate and celebrate my spirituality. I also go to see my family where a big part of the celebration is the dinner. When children are involved I like to do some type of activity with them which involves celebrating our beliefs.

However you celebrate your beliefs, celebrate knowing you are loved. If you don’t feel loved, know that I love you!

  • Smile, laugh and have fun – Smile radiantly, sincerely and joyfully at every opportunity. Laugh; watch a funny movie, share jokes with your friends, laugh at the absurdities of life. Make time for fun activities.
  • Stretch and Exercise – When you awake in the morning stretch your body; during the day take breaks to stand and stretch. Give your body a workout; walk, bike, swim or try Tai Chi! Go dancing or dance by yourself. Find an activity you like and do it regularly.

How Does Love Affect Us & Vibrations of Love Video!

Shine On!

The power of love is legendary, built into folklore, history, common sense and daily experiences. There are many types of love. Some examples:

The beneficial effects of love take place on all levels and dimensions:

Hundreds of research studies confirm that negative emotions have negative impact to our health. It also confirms that positive emotions, such as love, may heal us and benefit us the same way exercise and a healthy diet do. Because of all the health benefits, love may actually extend our lives. Research also shows a connection between improved health and spirituality; a higher love or self-love. No matter what path we take, the search for life’s meaning boosts the immune system and lowers risk of disease.

The more we extend our connectedness and practice love the greater our impact to everything around us. When thoughts and actions come from a place of asking for your highest good and the greatest good of all, you are acting from a place of love. You become love in action!

Allowing your energy to tune in to the light of love you begin to resonate in harmony with your “All That Is”. Emotions with lower frequencies transform and begin to vibrate at the frequency of love. You radiate love, giving it freely and benefiting all around you. You become a beacon of love, peace, harmony and hope.  You discover the more you increase your love and radiate it out, the more you can receive.

Meditate and focus on your heart chakra. Focus on love and feel it increase in-depth and strength. You may find yourself relaxing, becoming calmer. Begin with self-love and caring. See love in others and send them your love. The more you practice being open to love and filling your Being with love, the stronger this vibration will become and the more it will grow. YOU ARE THE LIGHT OF LOVE!

De-Cluttering & Video with Lightworkers Gifts

Posted 01/06/12 by Angel Marie and filed under:

Shine On!

It’s a great time of year to de-clutter!  De-cluttering means to simplify. Identify what it is that you want to simplify, your home, your car or maybe your purse. To create balance is to create an unobstructed environment. It might be obstructive but you still love it or use it, so the energy still flows.

There are many ways to de-clutter. Experiment with a variety of ways to find what works for you. The following are some suggestions.

  • Put on some good music and breath. Know your peak energy times and de-clutter during these periods. Know your limits and avoid overworking. De-cluttering a small area at a time will give you a sense of success and open the energy flow.
  • Take your junk drawer and put the contents in a box. Every time you need something and you take it from this box, put it back in the junk drawer.  After six months you could get rid of this box.
  • Take the time to put loose change in your wallet instead of tossing it in your purse, or get a change purse. Make it a habit to clean out your purse once a week (every Monday).
  • Make a date with yourself and look forward to a change of energy. Once you achieve this you will find you have freed yourself. Motivate yourself with a small reward.
  • Tag Team and make it fun! Get a friend or relative to help you.

De-cluttering your space helps balance the energy flow no matter what space it is you are clearing. It may clear your mind for new opportunities. The opportunities can be a new relationship, a new job, spiritual growth or the sense of inner peace. I choose to create my space and be in the moment and just keep moving from one location to the next.

So, enjoy finding your new found treasures and creating your balance!
