Authority: Be Your Own!

Are you comfortable with authority? Have you ever blatantly resisted when confronted with it? Do you think it’s important to listen to authority? Does anyone have authority over you?
coachWhen I was at University of Oklahoma I played on the softball team. The coaches had a different philosophy than I did coming from California. To say the least, I resisted and found myself frustrated, and was actually very close to being kicked off the team because of some of my actions.  That would not have served me very well because I was on a full ride scholarship, being educated for playing a game that I usually enjoyed. My teammates came to me and asked me to just play the game with the coaches because they wanted me to stay on the team. So I did just that.  I refocused and prioritized what was important in my life, and that was getting an education. I no longer had to prove to the coaches that they were wrong because I accepted the situation and knew my truth. Understanding your truth is seeing the situation and realizing there is no action to be taken, just acceptance.
My perspective on life and authority has changed only slightly. I have the courage to make my own choices and I am confident in who I am. I do not rely on authority. My authority in my life is my Higher Self/God/Me.
AuthorityIt is important to be your own authority and be aware when someone is trying to make choices for you. Many of my Coaching clients have had this issue with authority attempting to instill their values upon them. Becoming your own authority is choosing to be confident and powerful with who you are. By refocusing and prioritizing what it is you want in your life, and also acceptance of your life, is the first step. Allow yourself to see the real truth. Are you living your truth? Be a free thinker just because other people believe in it, doesn’t mean it right!

I would like to share my insights and tips and techniques to help with authority and creating that connection to your Higher Self/God/Me.

Everyone’s Symbol is Different – What’s Your Symbol?

“For every step you take towards God, God takes 100 steps towards you.” When I think of this phrase, stated by the Dalai Lama, I think of consciously taking those steps while God/Spirit steps a hundred fold towards me. When we are conscious of the existence and presence of the Divine, we are taking a conscious step towards God/Divine/Spirit.

All traditional religions have their own symbols and images that are meant to help us be conscious of the Divine. Some of them are the crucifix (Christian), images of Nataraja Shiva, Ganesha, or Kali (Hindu), the yin-yang symbol (Taoist), images of Buddha (Buddhist), images of Kachinas (Native American), the Mezuzah (Jewish), and the Ankh (Egyptian).

The steps of becoming conscious of the Divine are perhaps the most important piece of our evolution. What do you have in your home or office that helps keep you conscious of the existence and presence of your Divinity?

Action to Enlightenment & Bonus Video!

Shine On!

There is no right or wrong way when you are ready to take action to enlightenment or spiritual growth.  You have the potential to develop your awareness.  Humans seem to naturally seek that awareness in a variety of ways.  You have the ability to personalize your spiritual growth by choosing from a wide range of ideas and tools.  The most important thing is to take action.  Try different things – what feels right for you?

Often people search their past, looking for what happened to them and why. They ask “Why am I the way I am”?  It may be wiser to lovingly accept yourself as you are and move forward.  Others may begin to move forward but overload on the massive amount of information available through books, classes and the internet.  After feeling buried in the opinions of others they feel confused.  Seeking and learning are good; however you must believe in and trust yourself.  Choose what feels right for you.

Enlightenment does not mean a complete about-face to what you know and/or have grown up with. You need not set aside your fundamental religious beliefs unless you choose to do so.  Many Lightworkers practice a formal religion as well as taking part in other spiritual activities.  Think of your enlightenment as using your peripheral vision.  Instead of looking straight ahead, you are opening yourself to experience self discovery and love!

There are several actions you can take to bring your spiritual life into focus.  Here are just a few:

  • Learn techniques to ground and balance
  • Tai Chi – slow, deliberate and focused body movement
  • Learn breathing techniques to increase energy flow
  • Regular periods of time set aside for meditation
  • Spiritual Coaching

So, do you need help coming up with techniques that work for you? I would be honored to guide you on this journey. I offer many different ideas and tips – just give me a call and schedule a Coaching Session.  Remember – The most important thing is taking action!

Manifesting your Resolutions

Posted 12/29/11 by Angel Marie and filed under:

New Year’s resolutions are commitments people make to themselves to improve or change their lives in the coming year. These are often forgotten during the first couple months of the year. Using the Law of Attraction and Manifesting is taking your resolutions to a higher level.

The Law of Attraction explains that our thoughts vibrate or radiate a signal and attracts a matching signal back. Whether the signal is positive or negative we will attract likewise. The Universe is fully available to us and our desires when we are open to receive. Manifestation is the belief that stating desires and focusing energy will bring our thoughts, or radiating signals, into physical reality. There are various ways to practice manifesting such as meditation, affirmations or speaking to your Higher Self or Source.
Some tips for turning resolutions into successful manifestations are:

  • State your intention – your spoken words are powerful. Be positive!
  •  Be specific – State exactly what you desire. Visualize what you want to create.
  • Practice gratitude – Live is gratitude for what you presently have as well as for what is to come.
  • Release your desires and intentions to the Universe. Allow the energies of the Universe to work mysteries and bring your intentions to fruition.
  • Have faith – Know you have been heard. Accept that your desires will be achieved with Divine timing.
  • Be patient – Relax! Enjoy your life knowing you have taken steps to successfully create your physical and spiritual desires.

During the time of Winter Solstice you may have looked back at 2011 to see how you expressed your manifestations in the recent past. Remember you create your life; you are limitless! As you become dedicated to your spirituality and surrender yourself to your higher self or God, you will begin to manifest for a greater spiritual understanding. Trust and accept that your material desires will be met.

In the material world where we exist together, what do you wish to create? In the connection of Spirit to your physical body, what will you manifest for your spiritual longings?

And always – SHINE ON!
