Laughter: Energize Your Life & Feel Better

If you could re-energize, ease stress, and boost your immune system in just minutes, would you do it? Of course! Who wouldn’t? In this week’s video I offer some simple ideas like taking laugh breaks. Laughter can help you achieve better health. During these laughter exercises it is also a great help to use key words like; fun, joy, happiness. Can you think of any others?

Watch funny movies, YouTube videos and TV programs
With researchers now saying laughter can assist in balancing all components of the immune system, this can help fight off disease. Studies show that children laugh 300-400 times a day. Adults laugh only about 20 times a day… I have seen this in my Coaching practice. Most people don’t know how to laugh! Let’s stop being so serious..

Play: Would You like a Delicious Treat?

Do you like going to the high country? Did you go camping when you were a kid? Do you remember the feeling of peace and tranquility? Spending time in nature brings up your vibration increasing your energy as you relax and enjoy.  You literally become alive with the energy from nature.
      I just spent a day in the mountains with a Reiki student. We were sitting in a stream experiencing the cold, rushing water. It was a delicious treat, to be so totally absorbed and in the moment. It was pure pleasure and joy!
    Flowing Love Then my Lightworker friend, a sister Reiki Master said, “How can it get any better?” My first thought was, it could be cooler and it could rain. However, I did not say that out loud, I just thought it. Immediately I gave thanks and expressed appreciation for the moment knowing that I was also saying to the universe, “Make it even better.”
In the moments following, I looked up and the sky darkened, and it started to thunder. The Universe sent an amazing energy as though saying, “I hear you!”  I was awed how the Universe responded so quickly.  Is that being psychic or just knowing?  When you are in a place of peace and joy you just know it is going to happen, you can feel it and it’s because you are worthy! It was so exciting to be in the rain and feel the cool air.
So, look at your life and see how it can get better. You have limitless possibilities for enjoyment, peace and pleasure. Be free, relax and let go of your worries. I give you permission to go on vacation; to have peace and even feel joy. Whether you go to nature or imagine it, it is a beautiful reality!
   Do you want to play? As the concerns of our lives increase, the ability to play is impacted. Is it acceptable for adults to play? We often associate pleasure with guilt. I am sure you have heard the phrase, “a guilty pleasure.” Let me assure you, there is no guilt in pleasure. I reiterate, I give you permission to be happy, to be at peace and have pleasure in your life. It is a feeling, a thought and your divine right.
       It would please me to assist you, back into the game. So, come on out, let’s play!!   Ready, set, go!

Meditation: Tips on How to Breathe

Do you meditate or have you tried meditation and found it challenging?  Did you know meditation need not be complicated or even lengthy?  Would you believe it is scientifically proven that regular meditation has the ability to positively improve the quality of life for individuals who practice it?  There are also studies that show large groups of people meditating can diminish world aggression.

Simplistically stated, meditation is the practice of quieting the mind, focusing and being in the present moment.  We are all familiar with the most common benefits, such as the ability to be relaxed, calm and focused.  Did you know even a few minutes of meditation has many other benefits?  Meditation helps develop positive emotions and increases your chi (life force energy).  Where can you use these benefits?  Many of us are in the work force and this may be the ideal place to use meditation.  Taking a few minutes alone or developing focus on mundane tasks may change your outlook on your job in general or with projects you work on.  You may be surprised to find you are more able to tackle the challenging parts of your job with greater success when regularly practicing these short periods of meditation. Did you know that Tai Chi is a meditation in motion?

·        Breathing – Take slow deep breathes that extend your belly.  This type of breathing can lower your blood pressure and increases oxygen flow to the brain which becomes more active and alert. Also helps in releasing toxins from the body.
·        Focus on a point such as an Angel coin or gemstone.  If work cannot stop, focus intently on each action you take.  Consider each step in a work process.  For instance, say to yourself, “I am putting paper into the copier.  I am putting the document into the slot.  I am making 20 copies.”

·        Check with your company to see if they have a Meditation at Work Program.
·        Join a Tai Chi or Yoga class where you will learn further meditation techniques and styles.
·        Practice meditation regularly.

Motivation~Change~Vision

During the recent holiday season, many of us had time off work or adjusted work schedules so we could celebrate, see family, relax and have fun.  My best friend who is 13 years old told me her time off school was all about staying up late, watching movies, family and getting completely out of her routine.  I too seemed to drop my regular schedule of activities.  I stopped working out in the morning, stayed up later, went out to eat more often and ate things I typically do not eat.  Everything was off schedule and I had a lot of fun.

Now the holidays are over and most of us have returned to our routines of work, hectic schedules and life as it was before the holidays.  Yet those who see me for Coaching sessions, Readings and Reiki, as well as several Reiki students have been asking the same question, “Now what do I do?”  Some have made resolutions or stated the desire to experience change in their personal lives.  I have plans for change in my own life so as I considered this question I asked, “What is the next step?”

When I look at my Coaching Sessions what am I really doing? I work together with others to bring accountability to their goals.  I inspire and help light the fires of motivation.  I make suggestions such as writing down exactly what is wanted, focusing and the action steps necessary.  I offer suggestions and ideas which lead to connecting to others who might play a role in helping.  For me personally, I take these same actions.  I see what I want to create and I know there is someone special to help when the help is needed.

This year is about self realization – becoming the person you want to be.  It is wise to recognize that we do not have do this alone.  There are others to help us along the way.  Personally, I refuse stay with the same routines I was in.  There is someone out there that is going to help me with my visions of doing webinars and Blog Radio.  I am going to do something different this year!

Resolutions: Commitments to Change

New Years resolutions are commitments people make to themselves to improve or change their lives in the coming year. It can be for fun or in earnest as these desires are discussed and often written down. Many times resolutions are forgotten during the first few months after the New Year is celebrated. Using the Law of Attraction you may take yours resolutions to a higher level.

The Law of Attraction explains that our thoughts become our reality. Whether the signal is positive or negative we will attract likewise. The Universe is fully available to us and our desires when we are open to receive. There are various ways to practice manifesting such as meditation, affirmations or speaking to your Higher Self or Source.

Some tips for turning resolutions into successful manifestations are:

  • State your intention – your spoken words are powerful. Be positive!
  • Be specific – State exactly what you desire. Visualize what you want to create.
  • Practice gratitude – Live is gratitude for what you presently have as well as for what is to come.
  • Release your desires and intentions to the Universe. Allow the energies of the Universe to work mysteries and bring your intentions to fruition.
  • Have faith – Know you have been heard. Expect your desires will be achieved with Divine timing and for your best good.
  • Be patient – Relax! Enjoy your life knowing you have taken steps to successfully create your physical and spiritual desires.

This upcoming year is going to be exciting! We will all have opportunities for growth, learning and creating. In the material world where we exist together, what do you wish to create? In the connection of Spirit to your physical body, what will you manifest for your spiritual longings?

12-21-12: Fear, Joy, Awareness

All the sudden so many people are asking me about December 12th and 21st, 2012. I have to admit that most people usually don’t understand what I do so it is interesting so many are coming to me at this time. All these inquiries relate to the question of what I think about the dates and the energy right now. It is almost as though they have always known I have strong intuitive feelings so they are turning to me to see what I feel. They see me as a positive, happy, energetic person and they want to feel better. What I really feel is all the fear from so many people. Releasing fear and living with joy in the moment may be a good idea. No matter what you believe, practice it – go to church, meditate, go out to nature; allow your Higher Self to guide you. So, what I am really saying is, put a smile on your face and BE in the moment.

December 12, 2012 and December 21, 2012 are dates we have been hearing about for decades. People have intuitively sensed the importance of these moments in time, and predicted everything under the Sun. Speculation has run the gamut including everything from the end of the world to the instant manifestation of Heaven on Earth. Many people have become aware of the shift of energy, vibration, and consciousness that has occurred or is presently occurring within all living things.

In Numerology these two dates are significant because they both equate to the number 9. The number 9 is an important number because it symbolizes an end of a cycle – any cycle. In Numerology the 9 is followed by 1 – the beginning of new cycles. With new beginnings on the horizon, I choose to make this a time for celebrating, appreciating and manifesting!

Crying: More than Tears

Most of us in our childhood were taught crying was a weakness. When I cried I heard statements like, “What is the matter with you?” and “I will give you something to cry about!” I learned it was best not to cry or to hide my tears. Many of us grew up this way and some remain solid as a rock, holding in emotions that might generate tears. When my spiritual journey began I found crying was a great way to release emotions which were stored up over the years. I learned crying was not a “bad thing” and I usually feel great after a good cry. Recently I did a little research and found there are several health benefits of tears.

Most of us know – from crying – that it reduces stress and calms emotions. Many of us also know crying is a way to rid the eyes of irritants while lubricating the eyes. Crying releases endorphins – those “feel good” hormones while also detoxifying, getting rid of hormones that are harmful to different parts of our body. Tears contain a chemical known as lysozyme, a natural anti-bacterial that works to keep infections from happening in the eyes. And because the tear ducts are connected to the inside of the nose, crying cleanses the nose of harmful bacteria and irritants. Crying is good for relationships when you cry in front of others. It allows you to be vulnerable in front of others and allows them to take care of you, creating emotional bonds.

Spiritually speaking, I see Lightworkers shed tears for many emotions such as joy, gratitude, grief, inner peace and enlightenment. Crying may also take place in Coaching Sessions and Readings. Remember, water can move mountains, one tear at a time!

Spiritually: The Meaning of 7 and 8 [video]

Celebrating life is one of the joys we all have the ability to create. Sure, we all hook up on Facebook and we know, in general, how all our friends are doing. However, virtual contact and communication is no replacement for seeing, communicating and fellowshipping in person. Celebrating life with others is healthy! Recent studies show that social interaction boosts health and may be a positive factor in extending a life of health.

I will be celebrating 7 years of success as Lightworkers Gifts and Energy Healing Center.  This celebration – a wondrous party – is my gift to you in appreciation for the love and support you have given so freely.

Seven years!  The spiritual essence of the 7 is about reflection on the spiritual nature of things; investigating, analyzing and intuiting of inner wisdom.  It is about the quest to discover the inner landscape of life in relationship to higher truths.  This has been so true when I consider what Lightworkers Gifts brought to the community.  It really states what my desires have been, not only for myself but for all those who came into my life during the last 7 years.  I feel so blessed with gifts and talents which have a positive impact to those who enter my life!

Coming into the eighth year, I am excited about all the possibilities and opportunities!  Spiritually, the number 8 is charged with the responsibility of working with integrity to build a world of the future, aligned with higher consciousness and serving all humankind.  At the highest level, the 8 may be one of materializing wealth, following a path of power, achievement and success.

Daily Pratices for More Joy

These are three good practices I use daily. Making these a part of my life has brought more excitement and joy into my life experiences.

  1. Letting go of control: Realizing that we are not in control over the events that take place in our life helps us let go of the attachments to the outcome.  By changing your thought patterns you may reduce stress and worry about how all the details are going to play out. When you realize you are pushing, pushing, pushing – Stop, relax, breathe and let go.
  2. Accept that you are amazing! From the moment you awaken, smiling and bringing up your energy, release the limiting beliefs of your past self. Create a fabulous new you every morning.  Always remember and give yourself permission to be amazing.
  3. Human – yes, you are! Mistakes are going to happen. People feelings are going to get hurt and you will sometimes feel hurt also. Give yourself a break! Be forgiving, compassionate and loving to yourself.

If these resonate with you, write key words on a piece of paper and tape it to your mirror. First thing each morning, review your key words and practice them until they become a part of who you are because you are amazing!

Tips on Receiving a Reading & Video

Over the years I have had many psychic readings and, coming from a Catholic background, I questioned and analyzed everything to prove to myself the credibility of what I was experiencing. Understanding we are energy beings and our past, present and future is contained in the energy all around us, I use these readings as confirmation. For over six years I worked with many Mediums at my Wellness Center. One of the first Mediums offered to do a reading with me. I was fascinated at the accuracy of her information and how it impacted my life. For example, she told me about a piece of jewelry and described it in detail. My Grandma had given me a piece of jewelry that was exactly like that. It confirmed for me that she was really talking to my Grandma. It comforted me and helped me to heal from the grief I was feeling.

I have talked to several people who have received readings from Mediums and their experiences often catch them off guard. Several people experiencing grief for a loved one were comforted after these sessions. I began to realize there were benefits for everyone who set aside time for a session with a Medium. Many spoke of feeling a confirmation that life continues after we leave our human form. Others talked about being okay with the feelings of sadness and grief. The biggest benefit seemed to be a new desire – to heal from the pain of loss.
