Authority: Be Your Own!

Are you comfortable with authority? Have you ever blatantly resisted when confronted with it? Do you think it’s important to listen to authority? Does anyone have authority over you?
coachWhen I was at University of Oklahoma I played on the softball team. The coaches had a different philosophy than I did coming from California. To say the least, I resisted and found myself frustrated, and was actually very close to being kicked off the team because of some of my actions.  That would not have served me very well because I was on a full ride scholarship, being educated for playing a game that I usually enjoyed. My teammates came to me and asked me to just play the game with the coaches because they wanted me to stay on the team. So I did just that.  I refocused and prioritized what was important in my life, and that was getting an education. I no longer had to prove to the coaches that they were wrong because I accepted the situation and knew my truth. Understanding your truth is seeing the situation and realizing there is no action to be taken, just acceptance.
My perspective on life and authority has changed only slightly. I have the courage to make my own choices and I am confident in who I am. I do not rely on authority. My authority in my life is my Higher Self/God/Me.
AuthorityIt is important to be your own authority and be aware when someone is trying to make choices for you. Many of my Coaching clients have had this issue with authority attempting to instill their values upon them. Becoming your own authority is choosing to be confident and powerful with who you are. By refocusing and prioritizing what it is you want in your life, and also acceptance of your life, is the first step. Allow yourself to see the real truth. Are you living your truth? Be a free thinker just because other people believe in it, doesn’t mean it right!

I would like to share my insights and tips and techniques to help with authority and creating that connection to your Higher Self/God/Me.

Relationships: Energy Shifts

Are you seeing your relationship with others changing or are you having relationship challenges?  Do you keep repeating in your mind how you could have done it differently?  Do you feel like you just want to hide from everyone?  Recently I have been experiencing this in my personal life and in my Coaching practices.
relationships BlogAll relationships are changing and in fact are always in a state of change.  Relationship challenges are a reflection of who we are because we are always shifting, growing and in constant state of movement.  So, as this is happening we might feel stuck.  We might feel unworthy, depressed or just do not want to accept the situation.  I believe we are more aware of our feelings right now and we see our old patterns re-emerging.  Our emotions are all over the place and many are experiencing self anger.  We might be angry for staying in a relationship too long or perhaps not creating better boundaries.  It does not matter how intelligent we are or how much we understand what is going on.  In relationships it’s the emotions; it’s all about the emotions. Most of us want to feel joy, happiness, love and excitement.
Lots of times we do not always have the tools or techniques that might help release these emotions.  Changing how we feel by working with our emotions helps us feel and see more clearly.  Shifting your energy is as easy as the clouds moving across the sky.  For instance, when a child wants to change their frequency they will usually scream; when a dog wants to release energy they will shake, bark or yowl. They just allow their energy to flow out of them.
Here are some tips that may help you shift your energy when you are with other people:
-Be aware of your own energy and how you feel
-Breathe; relax your physical body
-Listen attentively and really hear others
-Speak with love; ask your Higher Self for guidance
-Use your intuition; go with your gut feeling
Here are some tips to shift your energy immediately at anytime:
-Breathe deeply; focus on the moment
-Clap your hands, laugh, sing, dance, Tai Chi, Mediate
-Go outdoors; visit Mother Earth, Divine Presence
-Practice appreciation, Cry when you want
-Clear your Space, Reiki, Listen to your inner Psychic
It’s always the action that will help shift your reality.  Also, speaking out loud tells the universe what you want. Law of attraction is always working. If you would like some help and are ready to change your reality?? It’s time for a Coaching session or maybe healing energy session.

Sex: Releasing the Story

This past weekend I had the opportunity to be on the Radio show “No Limits” with Christina Wagner.  The topic was sex.  I really believe that society has created a taboo about the discussion of sex.  This is more evident in our country than in other countries.  One of the questions was, “When was the first time your parents talked to you about sex?”

My experience is that when my mama started to show me pictures I told her I had already done some of those.  Being a very young child I did not think it was a big deal.  In my years of coaching hundreds of women, many have had sexual abuse.  The traumas and then the releasing and accepting of those experiences are always a challenge.

Saying this on the radio I felt more like my authentic self knowing that I could help other people.  There is no shame or fault and it is just a story now.  I believe all our experiences, whether positive or negative, give us the ability to help others.  Not only is there acceptance of self there is no longer the need to judge others in any situation.

If one of the stories in your life is in need of releasing, I am here for you with techniques and tips to help you get through it.  Also, if you would like to listen to the “No Limits” radio program, here you go.. Shine On Coaching Program

Acceptance: Diversity of Community

Over the weekend I was in San Diego for the Big Vision Conference.  When I arrived, the first thing I did was go to the beach.  I met a woman there who would influence my entire weekend and give me lasting insight.  During our conversation I discovered this woman is what they locally call a “Traveler”.  She explained that a Traveler is a person who chooses to live out of their car, traveling from one place to the next.  The Travelers find a job and work long enough to support their needs.  Then they leave the job world and enjoy a freedom that few of us can even comprehend.  Travelers meet up, develop friendships and do things together.  While I was there clothing was being handed out to those in need.  Others worked the beach, picking up trash everyone leaves behind.  They were serving humans and Mother Earth.

Society judges people like the Travelers as transients, the homeless and bums.  However, the Travelers life style set me to thinking.  Many people around the globe get up, go to work, come home and sit in front of the TV.  They own material things, are surrounded by opportunities; yet many seem caught in a cycle of low energy activities which in turn affects their health and well being.  Yes, there are also many who are active participants in their communities and with families.

I asked myself, “What is the difference between what society considers a typical community and people such as the Travelers?”  I looked closer at the Travelers.  I saw their interconnectedness, their concern and their love for each other and all those around them.  I saw them offer strangers a helping hand and sharing.  I watched as they picked up trash from the beach area, keeping our environment clean.  They accepted me immediately.  I felt included, connected and loved.  I knew I could return any time to the Travelers and be welcomed.  I knew they were as much a community as those we live in.

Attending the conference I also felt a connection there.  Perhaps part of the acceptance was that many of us worked in the same fields of expertise.  I felt just as accepted and loved at my five star hotel, full of Healers and other Metaphysical practitioners, as I did at the beach when enjoying time with the Travelers.  In a single weekend I came across two diverse communities, both accepting me as I am.

I was gifted with wondrous insight about community and even more, about acceptance!  I accept myself as I am; I allow my life to unfold.  By allowing others to follow their own path, without judgment, it becomes easy to show my acceptance and love.  In the future when I see people who appear to be without community I will have greater compassion, love and acceptance.
